Whether there’s afterlife, the answer has never been the same。 The atheists deny after life, believing that our life is no more than from the cradle to the grave。 They may care about their illustrious names after death; they may feel attached to the affection of their offspring, but they never lay their hopes on their afterlife。 They may also say that good will be rewarded with good, and evil with evil, but they don’t really believe any retribution in their after life。

However, in the religious world or among the superstitious people, the belief in afterlife is very popular。 They do not only believe in afterlife, but thousands of reincarnations as well。 In the mysterious world, there are the paradise and the hell, the celestial beings and the gods, the Buddha and the Bodhisattvas。

Maybe they really believed it, or maybe they just wanted to make use of people’s veneration, the ancient emperors always declared that they were the real dragons, the sons of God, while the royal ministers claimed to be the reincarnations of various constellations。 But can the stars reincarnate?

Many people burn incense and kowtow, do good deeds and strive for virtues, not just for the present, but mainly to let God see their sincerity so as to be reborn into a better afterlife, or to achieve the highest enlightenment after several lives of practice。 They do believe in afterlife。 But I can’t help asking: Suppose there were no afterlife, would you still do good deeds and strive for virtues? And If God does not see what you are doing, would you still be so upright and selfless? If you work, not for serving the public and liberating the others, but just for a better afterlife of your own, isn’t it a little too selfish? Comparing with this kind of believers, those who don’t believe in afterlife, but still keep doing good deeds, are the most sincere and honest philanthropists, because they do them not for themselves but for other。

You may wonder if I believe in afterlife。 My answer is: I know nothing about my previous life, so I dare not make improper comments on afterlife。 But I do hope there’s afterlife! Because our present life is so short that so many things slip away before our proper understanding。 I have so many dreams, so many wishes, so many ambitions, as well as so many regrets and concerns。 If there were no afterlife, all of them will remain unrealized!

been mine but have been washed away by the hurrying time, and I yearn for the perfection and maturity if I could start all over again。 So believe it or not, I’d rather there were afterlife。

In the north of China, there lies a 6,700-kilometer-long (4,161-mile-long) ancient wall. Now well-known as the Great Wall of China, it starts at the Jiayuguan Pass of Gansu Province in the west and ends at the Shanhaiguan Pass of Hebei Province in the east. As one of the Eight Wonders in the world, the Great Wall of China has become the symbol of the Chinese nation and its culture.

Lots of beautiful legends and stories about the Great Wall took place following along the construction, and since that time these stories have spread around the country. Those that happened during construction are abundant, such as Meng

Jiangnu's story and the legend of the Jiayuguan Pass. Meng Jiangnu's story is the most famous and widely spread of all the legends about the Great Wall. The story happened during the Qin Dynasty (221BC-206BC). It tells of how Meng Jiangnu's bitter weeping made a section of the Great Wall collapse. Meng Jiangnu's husband Fan Qiliang was caught by federal officials and sent to build the Great Wall. Meng Jiangnu heard nothing from him after his departure, so she set out to look for him. Unfortunately, by the time she reached the great wall, she discovered that her husband had already died. Hearing the bad news, she cried her heart out. Her howl caused the collapse of a part of the Great Wall. This story indicates that the Great Wall is the production of tens of thousands of Chinese commoners.

Another legend about the Jiayuguan Pass tells of a workman named Yi Kaizhan in the Ming Dynasty (1368BC-1644BC) who was proficient in arithmetic. He calculated that it would need 99,999 bricks to build the Jiayuguan Pass. The supervisor did not believe him and said if they miscalculated by even one brick, then all the workmen would be punished to do hard work for three years. After the completion of the project, one brick was left behind the Xiwong city gate. The supervisor was happy at the sight brick and ready to punish them. However Yi Kaizhan said with deliberation that the brick was put there by a supernatural being to fix the wall. A tiny move would cause the collapse of the wall. Therefore the brick was kept there and never moved. It can still be found there today on the tower of the Jiayuguan Pass. In addition to the above-mentioned stories about the construction of the Great Wall, there are also plenty of stories about current scenic spots. A famous one is the legend of the Beacon Tower. This story happened during the Western Zhou Dynasty (11th century BC-711 BC). King You had a queen named Bao Si, who was very pretty. King You liked her very much, however Bao Si never smiled. An official gave a suggestion that setting the beacon tower on fire would frighten the King's subjects, and might make the queen smile. King You liked the idea. The subjects were fooled and Bao Si smiled at the sight of the chaos. Later enemies invaded Western Zhou, King You set the beacon tower on fire to ask for help. No subjects came to help because they had been fooled once before. Thus, King Zhou was killed by the enemy and Western Zhou came to an end.

Beautiful stories and legends about the Great Wall help to keep alive Chinese history and culture. In each dynasty after the building of the Great Wall, many more stories were created and spread.

thre time of young is limitted,it may pass by without your attention, and when you discover what has happened ,it is always too late.grasping the young well means a better time is waiting for you in the near future,or the situation may be opposite .

having a view on these great men in the history of hunmanbeing, they all made full use of their youth time ,to do things that are useful to society,to the whole mankind, and as a cosquence ,they are remembered by later generations, admired by everyone.so do something in the time of young, although you may not get achievements as these greatmen did ,though not for the whole word, just for youeself, for those around!

However, unfortunately, in our lives, and to be not at all surprising misfortune. We should pay attention to. The value and use value of it, instead of escaping.

Because of the bad things under certain conditions, can make the change, bring good results. It is the end of life in high wade in.

To avoid the unfortunate people, will not get rid of misfortune; lament the unfortunate people, will not weaken misfortune; yield unfortunate people, not out of misfortune. Only a correct attitude toward the unfortunate people, in order to make it become a stepping stone to become mature, way to make people very Xiangjian, can do.

Unfortunately, just like a mirror, can reflect a person thought will or fragile, can produce two different results. The same unfortunate people who struggle, will relieve the pain of the unfortunate misfortune, down to a minimum. To the unfortunate people, can only become the unfortunate prisoner, was unfortunately a swallow. If unfortunately a ladder, you can see the light; if unfortunately as a slide, can only be stuck in the mud.

The more people are in a crisis, the more they have to keep calm and come up with a solution to the crisis

  Good afternoon, class.

Many students like getting online very much. they think on the internet they can get some information, play some educational games and these games help them learn a lot. they can also make friends online.

But there is also something bad getting online. It takes students too much time, so they do worse in their lessons. Spending too much time online is also bad for their health. I don't think they should spend too much time getting online. I think they should put their hearts into their studies.

  Hello everybody!

My name is Chen Xuanlin. It is my pleasure to be here to share my opinions of growing pains.

Grow up, like a boat in my life, driving the wave surface. Sometimes, be in calm, sometimes be in rough. But the boat I was growing up, not everything is going. For me, sour, sweet, bitter,ho t,everything .

Now, as I grow up, are becoming adults, so in the eyes of parents, I was no longer to be a kid. Sometimes, they say "you've grown up,not a children!" When I listen to this,my head will be pain.

When I was a little boy, my life is so now, in front of the waves are bigger, and more twists and turns the sea,I become a middle school student, that I have all gone past. I'm taller, homework more, study more subjects, have more I was a boy, I am wrong no matter what happened, no one to blame now,if I do something wrong,my parents will shout. The relaxe time will far away from me.I will be more busy.

Study pressure always troubling me. Grown up, more work gradually like hills. After school, I do not dare to play, to see their favorite book, I'm afraid I can't complete the work, I can only try very hard to make the pen in my book on wave, for example, I have to run on the way home. The course also gradually heavy. Every home in the evening review, I looked at a lot of books, I really do not know to study what subject, is Chinese? Or math? Or geography? Or……

What should I do? To look life in the future.

Good morning , boys and girls. I am pu lijuan and glad to give you a speech about stress.

Psychologist tell us that stress is a state of worry caused by the problem of living , such as too much work or study , heavy responsibilities .

Statistics show that stress comes from every detail in our life . Financial problems , poor health , being laid off may be the stress that most adults now are suffering . As students in the university , we are also under our special stress . While study , having to take various tests and submit a project against a deadline may put a great pressure on us . And the things that make us felt stressed may be our parents’s greater expectations on us than we could reach . Later , when we are likely to graduate , some other problems will also annoy us . I think we will worry a lot about our ability to compete in the job market and how we can best use what we’ve learned at college in our future job .

The chief problem we should face to is our attitude towards stress .People usually say they can not live in the sun except they escape from stress . It’s unwelcome ! Yes , however , very necessary . Just image a world where stress does not exist and people lead their life in a very comfortable way . But is this kind of living condition as perfect as we hope ? Without

stress , they may feel very satisfied with the current life but lack of power to discover new things . Too much satisfaction result in nothing except a countermarch of the society . No stress , no development . So a certain amount of stress is good . It can stimulate us and increase our level of alertness .

And our answer to stress is another vital problem . How to do with ourselves when stress suddenly break into our life ? To wave the white flag and admit our unability , to give up to our ideality , or worsely , just to suicide as to put an end to everything … Of cause not . The principle is to tackle with stress gently and harmoniously. We should try our best to release ourselves . Such as to do some exercise , to listen to t music to ease our minds and to learn to view these changes of life as challenges .It’s no use crying over spilt milk .

Only to accept what has happened can solve the problem .Ok , I think I was under large stress 5 minutes before , but now I am here and have finished my speech . Here is the last thing I want to add to my topic ,face to it and overcome it ,stress is also a piece of cake .

That is all . Thank you very much!

  Embracing the World, Embracing sports

Good afternoon honorable judges and beloved friends. My topic today is "Embracing the World, Embracing sports".

Since MaLong and Zhangjike’s breathtaking triumph over all the opponents in Rio, no matter in competition or in real life, their loving little interactions, has already captured the heart of thousands of girls from home and abroad. Are you still obsessed with a bunch of pop stars in entertainment industry ?SinceFuyuanhui told CCTV reporter. "I've been utilizing prehistorical powers." Are you still believe in the traditional sports concept that "winner-takes-all" or "victory only belongs to the winners"? When Sunyang didn’t won the champion of 1500-meter freestyle swimming match, but stick to the last minutes enduring the pain of physical sickness, are you still accusing him of not winning honor for our country? Of course, no!

Because of the nationwide sports system in our country, we always attach great importance to the glory of the most high-necked award platform, requiring athletes to win the game. I still remember that in 20xx, Liu Xiang dropped out because of the serious injury in his Achilles's tendon, but he grit his teeth and stick to the end, bearing all the pain and pressure we may never know. However, someone mock him that he is no longer the Asian flier anymore, some even said that his injury was just put on a show, suddenly he turned from a national hero into a loser, just because he upset the whole country of not winning one game.

From "medal only" to enjoy the charm and joy of the competitive sports, from requiring athletes to win the game to sincerely admire the noble-character and charming personality of them. This maybe one small step for 20xx Rio Olympic, but one giant leap for the Chinese national sport spirit. Who can say this is not the mistery of sport? who can say this is not the power of sport? And who can say this is not the charm of sport?

So, ladies and gentlemen, let's embrace the world with the charm of sports!

five score years ago, a great american, in whose symbolic shadow we stand signed the emancipation proclamation.

this momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice.

it came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of captivity.

but one hundred years later, we must face the tragic fact that the negro is still not free.

one hundred years later, the life of the negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination.

one hundred years later, the negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity.

one hundred years later, the negro is still languishing in the corners of american society and finds himself an exile in his own land.

so we have come here today to dramatize an appalling condition.

in a sense we have come to our nation's capital to cash a check.

when the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the constitution and the declaration of independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every american was to fall heir.

this note was a promise that all men would be guaranteed the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

it is obvious today that america has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned.

instead of honoring this sacred obligation, america has given the negro people a bad check which has come back marked "insufficient funds.

" but we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt.

we refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation.

so we have come to cash this check — a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.

we have also come to this hallowed spot to remind america of the fierce urgency of now.

this is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism.

now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice.

now is the time to open the doors of opportunity to all of god's children.

now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood.

it would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment and to underestimate the determination of the negro.

this sweltering summer of the negro's legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality.

nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning.

those who hope that the negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual.

there will be neither rest nor tranquility in america until the negro is granted his citizenship rights.

the whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.

but there is something that i must say to my people who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice.

in the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds.

let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.

we must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline.

we must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence.

again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.

the marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the negro community must not lead us to distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny and their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom.

  we cannot walk alone.

and as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall march ahead.

  we cannot turn back.

there are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, "when will you be satisfied?" we can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities.

we cannot be satisfied as long as the negro's basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one.

we can never be satisfied as long as a negro in mississippi cannot vote and a negro in new york believes he has nothing for which to vote.

no, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.

i am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations.

some of you have come fresh from narrow cells.

some of you have come from areas where your quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality.

you have been the veterans of creative suffering.

continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive.

go back to mississippi, go back to alabama, go back to georgia, go back to louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed.

let us not wallow in the valley of despair.

i say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, i still have a dream.

it is a dream deeply rooted in the american dream.

i have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "we hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

i have a dream that one day on the red hills of georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slaveowners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood.

i have a dream that one day even the state of mississippi, a desert state, sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

i have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

  i have a dream today.

i have a dream that one day the state of alabama, whose governor's lips are presently dripping with the words of interposition and nullification, will be transformed into a situation where little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls and walk together as sisters and brothers.

  i have a dream today.

i have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

  this is our hope.

this is the faith with which i return to the south.

with this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope.

with this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood.

with this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

this will be the day when all of god's children will be able to sing with a new meaning, "my country, 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee i sing.

land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim's pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring."

and if america is to be a great nation this must become true.

so let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of new hampshire.

let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of new york.

let freedom ring from the heightening alleghenies of pennsylvania!

let freedom ring from the snowcapped rockies of colorado!

let freedom ring from the curvaceous peaks of california!

but not only that; let freedom ring from stone mountain of georgia!

let freedom ring from lookout mountain of tennessee!

let freedom ring from every hill and every molehill of mississippi.

from every mountainside, let freedom ring.

when we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of god's children, black men and white men, jews and gentiles, protestants and catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old negro spiritual, "free at last! free at last! thank god almighty, we are free at last!"

  By Yang Xinyun

Good morning everyone. My name is YangXinyun. You can call me Sunny, too. I'm a 13-year-old girl and I'm from Guilin Howell School. Today my topic isthe story between English and me.

Now as we all know, there are six officiallanguages of the United Nations. And English is one of them. Certainly it isvery important and useful. We can talk to the foreign people when we can speakEnglish very well. But everyone knows it is always difficult to learn somethingat the beginning. Just like learning English.

I started to learn English in Grade 2. First,I don't like English. Because it's really difficult for me to write, speak and remember. So I always get the worst marks in my class.

Until one day, my dad asked me a strangequestion, "What is your favourite thing?" I said, "I like my guitar. And I likedrawing pictures. I also like going out to play with Lisa."(Lisa is my bestfriend.)Then he said, "What about English?" "I don't like it at all." Ianswered. My dad was very strict but also very patient, "My dear daughter, ifyou still don't like English, you will never get a chance to learn more byEnglish, such as your music and your art." I was afraid about that coming day. Andmy dad said, "So making a friend with English will make you happy. Trust me!" Ithought maybe my dad is right.

Then I came to Howell. It's really a goodplace for learning. I played games and sang English songs with other classmatesin Howell. I discovered the beauty of the language, and began my colourfuldream in my English world. Every day, I read English following the tapes.Sometimes, our teachers showed us cartoons. Certainly, I remembered and usedthe English words and phrases every day. I have been work harder and harder.

And now I can speak English well and alwaysget the best marks. I am happy. Because I did it better. I also have many problems. There are so many differences between English and Chinese. For example, when wemake a phone call, in Chinese we say, "I'm Sunny." But in English we say, "Thisis Sunny." If we can remember the differences we will be strong and powerful inEnglish. That's exciting.

English is always my best friend and it hasbeen a part of my life. In the future, I am going to study inAustralia. Iwill learn English well and introduce my country well. It will be wonderful. Ibelieve that as I love English more, it will love me more, as well.
